UNC basketball ruined Coach K’s party for his last game at Cameron Indoor Stadium and star big Armando Bacot had something to say to Duke fans after.

Everything coming into Saturday pointed to UNC basketball being a relative footnote in the final regular-season chapter of Coach K’s legacy. The Tar Heels were on the road at Cameron Indoor Stadium for Mike Krzyzewski’s final home game ever and, after losing by 20 points earlier in the season, North Carolina was a heavy underdog.

When it comes to this rivalry, though, you can never count either team out no matter what the odds say. And North Carolina showcased that to perfection.

After jumping out to an early lead on the road, the Heels never panicked when Duke got on a roll and took a relatively sizable lead. They fought to make it only a two-point deficit at halftime and then, thanks to a tremendous two-way effort, pulled ahead and didn’t allow the Blue Devils to claw their way back in as they secured the upset win, 94-81.

UNC basketball: Armando Bacot talks trash to Duke fans after upset win

Having just secured the massive upset over the Tar Heels’ biggest rival and the No. 4 team in the country, star UNC big man Armando Bacot immediately took to Twitter to talk a little trash.

That’s just some good, clean trash talk from a young man who stepped up and delivered on a big stage in a rivalry game. You have to love that (unless you’re a Duke fan, of course).

Bacot earned the right to talk his smack, though. In the upset win, the big man notched a team-high 23 points on tremendous 10-of-11 shooting along with seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. He was also one of four Tar Heels to reach the 20-point mark on the night.

Even with Coach K leaving the scene and with Roy Williams already retired, suffice it to say that Bacot’s message lets fans on both sides know one inevitable truth: The UNC-Duke rivalry isn’t going anywhere.
