Suddenly the Seahawks have not only a first-round selection in 2022 but a Top 10 pick. They’d given away their selection to the Jets in the Jamal Adams trade, so they’re one step ahead of where they started.

That means a quarterback selection is now on the table.

Mock drafts have had the Broncos using their No. 9 pick on a quarterback like Malik Willis. The Seahawks could step right in and make that same selection.

Willis had a strong showing at the NFL Combine when he gave scouts a first-hand look at his cannon of an arm, his natural leadership ability and his football IQ.

ESPN’s Matt Miller and others tweeted about the Seahawks’ interest in Willis at the Combine, so there could be legs on this one.

Seattle isn’t going to find another quarterback with as high a ceiling as Willis. So long as they’re willing to be patient while he develops and polishes his game, he could be the ultimate Russell Wilson replacement.
