Big E injury update: WWE fans send support after SmackDown suplex gone wrong

WWE fans sent their support to Big E following a scary landing after a suplex during Friday Night SmackDown that resulted in the superstar suffering a broken neck.

The opening match of the March 11 edition of Friday Night SmackDown was Big E and Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Towards the end of the match, Big E was on the outside of the ring and was grabbed by Holland and given a belly to belly suplex. However, Big E landed directly on the top of his head onto the floor in what was a terrifying moment to see.

According to those in attendance at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala., Big E was placed on a stretcher and taken backstage.

Big E posted a video update on his official Twitter account, revealing that he was told that he suffered a broken neck. He did say that his strength feels fine and was moving his fingers in the video.

After watching what took place and seeing the latest update, fellow wrestlers, wrestling media and fans sent their support to the former WWE Champion.

Update: Big E posted another video to his social media accounts on Saturday morning, revealing that while the C1 and C6 vertebrae are fractured, they are non-displacement. Additionally, Big E said that he has no spinal cord damage, no ligament damage and he will not need surgery.
