Baker Mayfield wants to be traded by the Cleveland Browns ahead of his fifth NFL season.

Things have been better between Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns.

After a very up-and-down first four years in Cleveland, Mayfield finds himself playing in a contract year in his fifth season out of Oklahoma. When healthy, he can be a top-half quarterback in the league. The problem is his personality has not always made things easy for the AFC North franchise. After missing out on Deshaun Watson, Mayfield wants a fresh start somewhere else.

Here are three landing spots that would make a ton of sense for the Browns to trade Mayfield to.

Whoever does not get Deshaun Watson would be a great spot for Baker Mayfield

While it remains to be seen what team ends up winning the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, the loser has to be a serious candidate to trade for Mayfield. Though the Carolina Panthers are still technically in the running for him, it feels like it will come down to either the Atlanta Falcons or the New Orleans Saints who will acquire Watson in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans.

Regardless of if Atlanta ends up with Watson or not, the Falcons need to bite the bullet and part ways with the greatest quarterback in franchise history, Matt Ryan. He would be an ideal candidate to go to the Indianapolis Colts if Watson comes to Atlanta. Should the Falcons lose out on Watson, then Ryan could potentially go to Cleveland in a deal that sends Mayfield to Atlanta.

As far as the Saints are concerned, it is not as pressing. If they miss out on Watson, they could re-sign Jameis Winston, or try their luck with Taysom Hill. However, Mayfield grew up idolizing Drew Brees and he may be interested in playing in the same offense his boyhood hero once thrived in. The Saints may not win a ton, but this would be a decent spot for him to be traded to as well.

There is a very strong possibility that if Mayfield is traded, it would be to either NFC South rival.
