Davante Adams celebrated Raiders’ trade by buying house next to Derek Carr
By John Buhler
Davante Adams has purchased a house right next door to Derek Carr after getting traded to the Las Vegas Raiders by the Green Bay Packers.
Davante Adams and Derek Carr were college teammates at Fresno State, but now they are next door neighbors as undeniable pillars of the Las Vegas Raiders franchise.
Adams left the Green Bay Packers by way of a blockbuster trade on Thursday night. Though he was originally slapped with the franchise tag by Green Bay, the Packers brass was able to work out a trade with the Silver and Black. This is a massive move for the Raiders, as they get arguably the best wide receiver in football. He will now be catching passes from one of his closest friends.
With new head coach Josh McDaniels taking over, the Raiders could have one of the most explosive offenses in the entire league going forward.

This has been quite the offseason for the Silver and Black already. They got arguably the best pass-rusher on the market by signing future Pro Football Hall of Famer Chandler Jones in his free agency. Pairing him with Maxx Crosby gives the Raiders a bevy of talent coming off the edge. Though they did lose Yannick Ngakoue and Casey Hayward, the Adams arrival is a game-changer.
Keep in mind this one important thing. The Raiders had a well-defined need at wide receiver. With the tragedy that is Henry Ruggs III, Las Vegas needed a bona-fide No. 1 deep threat to bring the most out of this receiving corps. They already had an elite slot receiver in Hunter Renfrow, as well as one of the best tight ends in football in Darren Waller. Carr is also a top-12 passer in the NFL.
While the AFC West will be a total bloodbath next year, the Raiders have as good of chance as anyone to not only make the playoffs next season, but win the division. Yes, the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers have gotten markedly better, but the arch rival Kansas City Chiefs are on top until they are not. For now, the AFC West has become the SEC West all grown up.
Adams and Carr living next door to each other will only grow this rising team’s overall chemistry.
