The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have completed a blockbuster trade, sending wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the AFC East.

First Davante Adams and now Tyreek Hill? That’s what has gone down, with the monster news coming in on Wednesday that the Kansas City Chiefs have traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks.

With Hill now on board, Miami will now feature a wide receivers unit highlighted by Hill and Jaylen Waddle. You’d think that Miami’s Super Bowl odds would have skyrocketed following the news, right? Wrong.

Kansas City’s offense will have trouble replacing Tyreek Hill

It’s a stunner that Miami’s odds stayed the same. As for the Chiefs, their odds only dipped a little, going from 9/1 to 10/1. You would have assumed that the odds would have dropped a bit more than that, but Vegas disagrees.

Fans are excited about the addition of Juju Smith-Schuster, but he doesn’t even come close to the play-making abilities of Hill. With the Raiders landing Adams and now Kansas City parting ways with Hill, people are understandably upset with how things shaped out.

Not only that, but the Chargers added J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack for their loaded defense. Over in Denver, the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson. It feels like all the other teams in the AFC West have gotten stronger, but Kansas City losing Hill is a giant step back for them.

The team still has Mahomes, though, and anything is possible when you have an elite QB running the show for you like him. Without Hill, however, the Chiefs’ climb to get to the Super Bowl next winter just got even more difficult.
