Tyreek Hill trade: Jets, Dolphins in serious talks to acquire Chiefs receiver
By Byron Smith
One of the wildest NFL offseasons in recent memory just got even crazier as the Kansas City Chiefs and Tyreek Hill appear to be parting ways.
Tyreek Hill has been a central player involved in the Kansas City Chiefs rebuild over the last several seasons. His speed and athleticism have been one of the deadliest pieces of the Chiefs’ offense, making him one of Patrick Mahomes‘ favorite targets.
However, it appears that his time in Kansas City may be coming to an end. First reported by Ian Rappoport, despite KC offering Hill a massive contract extension, the star wide receiver has elected to not re-sign and instead has begun seeking a trade. At only 28 years old, Hill has already received a ton of attention from around the league.
According to Adam Schefter, the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins appear to be the front-runners for landing one of the fastest players in the NFL.
After the Davante Adams’ trade, the Chiefs are likely going to seek a huge return for Tyreek Hill
This weekend, the Chiefs divisional rival, the Las Vegas Raiders, acquired star wide receiver, Davante Adams, from the Packers. In exchange, Vegas sent a 2022 first and a 2022 second round pick to Green Bay. This likely sets the bar for what Kansas City is expecting back in exchange for their star playmaker.
The New York Jets’ first round pick will likely be the most enticing for the Chiefs, coming in at fourth overall. The Dolphins’ first round pick is all the way back at 29, which hurts them a bit, but they have movable player assets and other ways of making up the difference. The Chiefs, who have been much less active than their AFC West rivals this March, have several roster needs that could be filled by this type of trade and could actually come out of this negative situation a little better.
