player. 58. . Cornerback. Washington Commanders. Ahmad Gardner. 11

The Washington Commanders will turn to Carson Wentz for the 2022 season, and it remains to be seen whether or not that was the right move. Right move or not, Wentz going to Washington takes them out of the running for a QB here at No. 11 overall, so turning to the defense would be the smart move.

Cornerback is a real issue for the Commanders heading into next season, but they can get their pick of the talent coming out this season. While some feel Derek Stingley Jr. is the best corner in this class, I believe Ahmad Gardner should be the first off the board, and that is the case in our latest mock.

Jordan Davis. 12. player. 60. . Defensive Tackle. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings could be the team to beat in the NFC North this upcoming season when all is said and done. With so much talent leaving Green Bay, and the Vikings sticking with Kirk Cousins, you have to think the Vikings are in a position to move past the Packers as the kings of the division next year.

To do so, they will have to improve on the defensive side of the ball, and they do so by adding Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis here. This guy proved at the NFL Combine that he is a special player, especially for someone his size, and the Vikings need interior defensive line help.

Derek Stingley Jr.. 13. player. 10. . Cornerback. Houston Texans

Thanks to the trade they made with the Cleveland Browns for Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans will now hold two picks within the first half of the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Earlier on, they added an elite edge rusher in Aidan Hutchinson, and here, they bolster their secondary.

Of all the cornerbacks in this year’s draft class, Derek Stingley Jr. and Ahmad Gardner are the best of the best, and Stingley goes here at No. 13 overall. He is going to be a CB1 at the next level, checking off a big box for this Houston defense in 2022.

26. . Edge. Baltimore Ravens. Jermaine Johnson. 14. player

The Baltimore Ravens missed out on the playoffs this past season, but that was only because they lost Lamar Jackson late in the year due to injury. Baltimore has the talent to be one of the best in the NFL in 2022, and with a healthy Jackson under center, the AFC North could be theirs to lose.

With pick No. 14 overall, Baltimore needs to bring in an edge rusher, and Jermaine Johnson could end up being the best of the bunch when it comes to this draft class. Johnson plays with incredible tenacity, can run over, or around any offensive tackle, and could be the next great defensive player in Baltimore.
