The UConn women’s basketball team was trying to get to the Final Four against NC State but senior big Dorka Juhasz unfortunately suffered a nasty injury.

Injuries have been a hardship for UConn women’s basketball throughout the 2021-22 season, most notably having to endure a large part of the season without superstar guard Paige Bueckers. With Bueckers back in the lineup, though, the Huskies have been rolling through March Madness, leading to Monday night’s matchup with No. 1-seed NC State in the Elite Eight.

With UConn getting into a rhythm early, though, the injury bug reared its ugly head once again and the result was a scary moment for senior big Dorka Juhasz.

Driving down the lane through contact and going up for a shot, Juhasz was taken to the ground by the could and came down hard on her wrist. She was clearly in pain on the floor, but it wasn’t until after multiple replays that it became clear that the wrist snapped upon impact with the ground.

We’re not going to put the video of the injury in here, but if you want to see the fall and the aftermath, you can follow this link to Twitter and see it.

After such a scary injury, Juhasz was taken back to the locker room with a cover placed over her wrist by the trainers. Though there wasn’t an official word, it’s a safe assumption to say that she won’t return against NC State and likely for the rest of the women’s NCAA Tournament.

Despite the injury, UConn continued to look like the Huskies dynasty of old in the Elite Eight matchup as they ran out to a 34-28 lead over the Wolfpack going into halftime, looking in firm control and on their way to another Final Four berth.
