Being a professional athlete can be one of the highest-paying jobs in the world, and MLB players are able to make hundreds of millions of dollars if they are talented enough.

Most MLB players share a common childhood dream they have all achieved; they want to become professional baseball players. When they achieved this, they also achieved financial security. Most MLB players are able to live beyond comfortably, but what is the highest amount of money an MLB team has offered?

Who has the biggest contract in MLB history?

The MLB player with the biggest contract ever is Mike Trout. Trout signed a contract worth $426.5 million with the Los Angeles Angels in 2019. Trout currently has the third-biggest contract in professional sports history, surpassed only by Lionel Messi and Patrick Mahomes.

For nearly the past decade, Trout has been considered the best MLB player. He held the top spot in ESPN’s annual top 100 players for eight seasons straight. He is a well-rounded player with an ability to do well batting and fielding. During his past 11 seasons, he has scored a career total of 967 runs. 310 of his hits were home runs.

Trout was unfortunately injured with a calf strain in the 2021 season and unable to play as much as in previous seasons, but is expected to make a full comeback this season and is “100% healthy,” according to Trout’s agent Craig Landis.

Trout is undoubtedly one of the most dominant players in the MLB, and if he returns to the league in full health this year, viewers will likely watch him continue to lead the ranks.
