The sports world reacted to Colin Kaepernick being part of Michigan’s Blue and Maize spring game.

Colin Kaepernick was all the rage at Michigan’s Blue and Maize spring game on Saturday.

The controversial former NFL starting quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers was named an honorary captain ahead of the Wolverines’ spring game. This was made possible because Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was his head coach in San Francisco from 2011 to 2014. Together, they helped guide the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance during the 2012 NFL season.

Kaepernick sent out a tweet about how excited he was to be in Ann Arbor on Saturday where he showed off his arm during halftime, making the case he can still play in the NFL.

“I can help make you a better team, Kaepernick told Jenna Trotman. “I can help you win games.”

Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016. Though he is firmly in his mid-30s, the outspoken activist wants another opportunity at playing in the NFL.

When it comes to Kaepernick, the talent has never been the issue. Is he good enough to be a starter in the NFL? At one point in time, yes, but the former second-round pick out of Nevada would be seen as a mid-level backup in the league today.

So will a team give him an opportunity? Probably not.
