The Golden State Warriors are considered one of the best teams in the NBA, but there have been some seasons they weren’t so great.Â
The Golden State Warriors have been known for having some of the most legendary players in the NBA such as Stephen Curry and Wilt Chamberlain. The team is known for being one of the most dominant in the league, but like any successful team, they have had their share of bad seasons.
When were the worst seasons for the Golden State Warriors?
The worst season the Warriors have ever faced may have been the 2019-20 season. The Warriors only saw 15 wins that season which is the second-lowest total in franchise history, although it was the pandemic interrupted season so they only played 65 games.
They proved to be in a difficult position after losing Stephen Curry to an injury and ended up last in the Western Conference. The worst season by total wins was the 1952-53 season when the franchise was still located in Philadelphia. The Warriors won 12 games that season. Unfortunately, the only thing that can break that record is for other teams to do even worse.
They also faced a rough season in 2000-01 with a low 17 wins. This was only slightly better than their worst season to date, and they ended their season with a 13-game losing streak. Throughout that season, their longest winning streak was two games, but they commonly only won one game before losing quite a few more.
The Warriors have since redeemed themselves from those seasons and are currently third-best in the Western Conference with 50 wins so far this season. Though the Warriors are a great team, they have shown they are bound to face hard seasons every once in a while.
