Veer Mahaan has finally arrived in WWE, but who is the newest superstar on Raw and where did he come from prior to his debut?

For months on end, WWE fans have been awaiting the debut of Veer Mahaan on Raw. Promo after promo has aired but the superstar has yet to show up on TV. Finally, we got the announcement that he would be making his debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 38.

Given the screen time that Veer has been given over this span, it stands to reason that the company has big plans for him in some capacity. What those plans are, of course, remains to be seen.

He was once part of the muscle behind Jinder Mahal but is now seemingly going to get his big re-vamping as a singles superstar. But who is the man that’s about to take Raw by storm? Let’s take a look at a little bit of background to get to know him.

Veer Mahaan real name

Mahaan’s real name is actually Rinku Singh, one that both baseball and Disney sports movie fans might be familiar with. He played professional baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization for several years after being discovered in India by way of a search process that was eventually made into a movie.

Veer Mahaan age, height and weight

Mahaan is being billed as a 6-foot-4 and 276 pounds wrestling out of India. The 33-year-old’s true height and weight are unknown but he is certainly a large human being and a former professional athlete, so it stands to reason that his billed height and weight aren’t necessarily too far from the truth in this case.

Veer Mahaan wrestling career

After his baseball career, Veer signed a contract with WWE in early 2018. He spent some time in NXT performing under the name Rinku before making his main roster debut alongside Shanky as the muscle behind Jinder Mahal, as mentioned. Whenever Shanky and Mahal were drafted to SmackDown in 2021, however, Mahaan was not, leaving him to get this rebranding and setting up his debut.

Veer Mahaan Million Dollar Arm history and MLB career

The movie that was made about Singh/Mahaan’s baseball career was, of course, Million Dollar Arm starring Jon Hamm.

Singh won a pitching contest and reality TV show that went by The Million Dollar Arm — hence the name of the film — that earned him a professional baseball contract. In fact, he became the first Indian-born player to sign an MLB contract. His career spanned several seasons in the Pirates organization but he never made it above Single-A ball before, obviously, moving on and eventually beginning his life in the squared circle.
