The WNBA has announced the date of their 26th annual WNBA draft for 2022. Here are the details of when and what to expect for this year’s draft.

The WNBA Draft 2022 will take place this year on Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. ET.

The 2022 Draft will be held at Spring Studios, in New York City, for the first time in person since 2019. Spring Studios are located in the heart of the Tribeca neighborhood,, which is known for hosting New York Fashion Week and the Tribeca Film Festival.

The draft is set to take place eight days after the Women’s College Basketball National Championship game in Minneapolis. Prospects had until March 28 to declare for their draft, unless their team advanced to the Elite 8 or Final Four. In that case, they had a bit more time.

Who has the fist pick in the WNBA Draft?

The Washington Mystics currently have the No.1 pick in the draft and with some talented prospects up for grabs. NaLyssa Smith of Baylor, and Rhyne Howard of Kentucky, are two prospects that the Mystics could grab in the first pick of the draft.

The Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream have the opportunity to pick up Smith or Howard, depending on the decision made by the Mystics. Shakira Austin, Mississippi center, is projected to go No. 3 with the Atlanta Dream but can change based on the decisions made by the Mystics.

Indiana, Atlanta, and New York hold the next five picks in the first round.

The three rounds will be available to watch on ESPN and the WNBA regular season tips off on May 6.
