New Chicago Cubs hurler Marcus Stroman can’t wait for his Wrigley Field debut to arrive later this week.
The countdown is almost over for Marcus Stroman to light things up for Chicago Cubs fans. Despite never taking the field for his new club yet (minus spring training), Stroman has become a fan favorite, as he’s won over countless supporters thanks to his personality.
Come Saturday, the stage will be set for Stroman to make his Wrigley Field debut. For the starting hurler, it’s something he’s been looking forward to for quite some time.
Marcus Stroman is all set to start for the Cubs on Saturday
Stroman is jacked up and that’s not surprise whatsoever. From the moment Stroman signed with Chicago this offseason, he’s been getting everyone who loves the Cubs hyped up for the 2022 campaign to arrive.
After opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID concerns, Stroman got back on the bump for the Mets last year and made 33 starts. He finished with a disappointing 10-13 record, but posted a 3.02 ERA.
He was receiving plenty of interest in free agency, but ultimately decided that he wanted to continue his career with the Cubs. Stroman and Chicago agreed to a three-year deal that will pay the righty $71 million. It was a major payday for him, and now people are ready to see him earn that contract.
Stroman will have his first chance to bring joy to the Chicago faithful this weekend against the Brewers. While there’s a completely different feel around the Cubs entering the new campaign, that doesn’t mean this club isn’t going to feature several stars. Stroman is one of them and the expectations are no doubt going to be high for him from start to finish in 2022.
