The Los Angeles Lakers have officially been eliminated from playoff contention and Kendrick Perkins can’t believe it.

A year that started with NBA Finals dreams has already come to a close for the Los Angeles Lakers. Following a loss to the Suns on Tuesday night, the Lakers, who have lost seven straight, have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.

Since the postseason hopes were killed, people have been blasting LA all over Twitter. The list includes former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins, who didn’t hold back with his thoughts on the team.

Kendrick Perkins went all-in on calling out the Lakers

As you can see from that tweet, Perkins is disgusted that the Lakers weren’t able to impress this year. As things stand, they’re 17 games under .500, which no one expected this late in the campaign.

Whenever you have LeBron James in your lineup, fans are going to expect your team to be in the title hunt. While injuries have really hurt LA this season, there’s still no excuse for them to have performed so poorly.

This feels like a major waste of a season for James, who turned 37 in December. With him turning 38 near the start of the 2022-23 campaign, everyone knows he doesn’t have a long time left in the league. He’s still playing at a high level, but the Lakers need to get him some help for next year.

Otherwise, it could be more of the same for the Lakers, which no one in the city wants to see. James and the rest of his Lakers teammates will have to watch the playoffs from home this spring, which no one was expecting to see. It’s a major bummer for this squad.
