F1 qualifying is a bit different this week with the Australian Grand Prix putting the qualifying sessions at an unusual time for Formula 1 viewers.

The Australian Grand Prix is back! And qualifying should be as exciting as ever with the field of drivers excited to finally return to Melbourne for some Formula 1 action.

The 2020 and 2021 Australian GPs had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Losing the race on the calendar for two years was a huge disappointment, especially because the circuit has been reworked to allow for better overtaking and more action.

After a long way, drivers and fans will get to experience the new-look track.

Before they can lineup for the main event, the drivers have to prove who is the fastest on track during qualifying.

F1 qualifying time for the 2022 Australian Grand Prix

Qualifying at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit will begin on Saturday, Mar. 26 at 2:00 a.m. ET.

The first day of practice set up another Ferrari vs. Red Bull battle with Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz among the quickest drivers in both sessions.

Valtteri Bottas won the Australian Grand Prix for Mercedes in 2019 while Sebastian Vettel won it in a Ferrari in 2018 and 2017. Both of those men are now racing for different teams — Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin respectively — with the young guns from Red Bull and Ferrari aiming to set the tone while Mercedes looks to take rapidly improve.
