Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm admitted that he said he “f—ing hates this place” during Monday’s game against the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

The Philadelphia Phillies had quite the eventful Monday night. They bounced back in the eighth inning from a 4-0 deficit to defeat the New York Mets 5-4. In the beginning of the game, Bohm managed to commit three fielding errors, all of which were on throws to first base.

After throwing out Starling Marte in the second inning, Bohm was sarcastically cheered by the fans at Citizens Bank Park. That was when Bohm was seen saying “I f—ing hate this place.”

Bohm was asked about it after the game, where he confirmed that he said it. Bohm said that he did not mean to say it and that his emotions got the better of him.

The night did not start off great for Bohm and the Phillies, but their luck changed during the eighth inning.

Bohm was walked to start the bottom of the eighth inning on six pitches thrown by Trevor May, who was removed from the game right afterward. Bohm would score Philadelphia’s first run of the game after Kyle Schwarber grounded into a force out. From there, the floodgates opened, as the Phillies scored four more runs on a two-run homer by J.T. Realmuto and RBI doubles by Rhys Hoskins and Didi Gregorius.

The Phillies secured the 5-4 win following a successful save attempt by Brad Hand in the top of the ninth.

Bohm admitted that he said what viewers thought he said and stressed that he did not mean it.
