It doesn’t get much more exciting than a buzzer-beater to end a playoff home game. Boston fans were definitely pumped up over the moment, though there is still a lot more work to be done to advance to the next round.
That’s one game down, at least three more to go.
Tatum finished with 31 points and eight assists. His complete-game countered an epic performance from Kyrie Irving for the Nets. The former Celtic had 39 points, six assists and four steals.
The Celtics built a strong lead in the third quarter but the Nets pushed back in the fourth quarter.
Irving hit a triple with 45 seconds remaining to put Brooklyn up by three. Jaylen Brown responded with a layup then Boston was able to get the ball back after a Kevin Durant miss.
The two teams will be back in action on Wednesday for Game 2.
