Mike Trout injury update: Angels star leaves game after scary HBP
Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout had to leave the game against the Rangers with an injury after being hit on the hand by a pitch.
Angels fans are collectively holding their breath after Mike Trout had to leave Sunday’s game with a potential injury.
The star was hit by a pitch throw by Rangers pitcher Spencer Patton in the fifth inning.
The ball hit his wrist/hand and he immediately showed signs of pain.

Mike Trout was just hit by a pitch on his left hand by a 81-mph slider and he's leaving the game.

Trainers checked out Trout and decided to remove him from the game. Thankfully, he is considered day-to-day.

Considering his injury record, the prospect of losing him to any long-term issue is a definite concern. Obviously, there’s nothing a team can do about a player getting hit by a pitch in the wrong spot but it would be a sign of pretty terrible luck if Trout has to miss any time over this one.
Trout played just 36 games last year as he battled injuries. This year he has hit two home runs but is battling just .250/.382/.536.
The team will update Trout’s status later on Sunday. For now, the only thing left to do is hope taking Trout out of the game was purely precautionary.
