The Atlanta Braves should be thrilled with the way Ronald Acuña is recovering. Fans will almost certainly be thrilled with the latest update on his recovery.

Ronald Acuña is one of the most exciting young stars the MLB has to offer and unfortunately he hasn’t exactly been able to play for a little while. Injuries are always awful and they have deprived baseball fans everywhere of Acuña for some time now.

However, the Atlanta Braves, Braves fans, and baseball fans everywhere should be excited with the way Acuña’s recovery is going. He’s not there yet, but it’s starting to look like Acuña is getting closer and closer to being able to return to action in the big leagues.

But first, it looks like he will need to make a stop at a Triple-A game in Jacksonville, Florida. Along with obviously a few other things that he’ll have to do to demonstrate that he is ready, able, and healthy enough to play for the Braves, Acuña will need to make his rehab assignment. That includes playing for the Gwinnett Stripers.

Ronald Acuña injury update: Atlanta Braves get great news on star player

Atlanta is reportedly hoping to get Acuña back in action in the big leagues some time in May. Interested in a more precise timeline for his injury? According to Ken Rosenthal, the Braves would like to have Acuña ready to go on May 6.

Having Acuña back with the Braves then would be great to see.

The 24-year-old star injured his ACL last July and has been sidelined since. When Acuña is healthy and able to play, he’s electrifying to watch. A season ago, in just 82 games, Acuña had a .283 batting average and 24 home runs.

Get him healthy and get him back to hitting more home runs. The Braves want it to happen. Baseball fans want it to happen. There’s absolutely no doubt that Acuña also wants it to happen.
