Cristiano Ronaldo announces one of his newborn babies has passed away

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo announced the devastating news that his son, one of his newborn twin babies, passed away.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s family was struck with tragedy this week after the passing of his newborn son.

The baby boy was born recently along with a twin sister to Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez released a joint statement about the sad news.

“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” the statement reads.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”

Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro shared a message on social media acknowledging the news as well.

The twins were the soccer star’s fifth and sixth children. He has four others including a son born in 2010, a twin daughter and son born in 2017 and another daughter born in 2017.

Manchester United is scheduled to play Liverpool on Tuesday. The striker’s availability for that game has not been revealed.
