Updated WrestleMania Backlash match card after April 18 Raw

Here is what the WrestleMania Backlash match card looks like after the Apr. 18 episode of Monday Night Raw.

WWE is a couple of weeks removed from WrestleMania, which means it is time to prepare for the company’s next premium live event. The name of that event is WrestleMania Backlash, which will take place on Saturday, May 8, live from Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

There were three matches added to the event’s card during last week’s editions of Raw and SmackDown. Seth Rollins challenged Cody Rhodes to a rematch from WrestleMania. Ronda Rousey is taking on Charlotte Flair once again for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but this time in an I Quit match. RK-Bro accepted the challenge by The Uso’s and will take them on in a Winner Take All, Tag Team Championship Unification match.

In terms of the card, there was one new match added to the show on the Apr. 18 episode of Raw.

Edge, after defeating Styles at WrestleMania due to a distraction by Damian Priest, issued a challenge at WrestleMania Backlash. Later on in the night, Styles accepted during a backstage interview. Yet, the lights went out, and Edge and Priest emerged behind him and attacked.

Other matches previously announced for WrestleMania Backlash had their stories progress on this episode of Raw.

Rollins called out Rhodes, and said that he only won at WrestleMania because he was a surprise opponent. So, Rollins said that he would handpick Rhodes’ opponent for the main event of Raw. Rollins’ handpicked wrestler to face Rhodes was none other than his friend, Kevin Owens.

Rhodes defeated Owens in a competitive match. But, Rhodes won by count out after Owens walked out after Rollins used some choice words with him to get back in the ring. As Rhodes stood on the turnbuckle, Rollins pushed him over the top rope to the floor, thus ending the episode of Raw.

As for RK-Bro, they faced off against The Street Profits. Riddle appeared ready to get the win for his team, but the Uso’s theme music hit, distracting the Raw Tag Team champions. The Street Profits capitalized, pinning Riddle to get the win and said that RK-Bro should not lose focus on them.
