The Kansas City Chiefs are not likely to get Deebo Samuel, so if they want to get Patrick Mahomes another wide receiver, they must turn their attention to the 2022 NFL Draft.

With the 2022 NFL Draft only a few days away, the Kansas City Chiefs will have plenty of opportunities to get quarterback Patrick Mahomes a wide receiver without giving up the farm for a player like Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.

Though it stinks to lose a future hall of fame player like Tyreek Hill in the midst of his prime, this was just par for the course with the exploding wide receiver market. Hill became too expensive for the Chiefs at this time. Furthermore, this is why Kansas City is not expected to trade for the likes of Samuel, A.J. Brown, Terry McLaurin or DK Metcalf this offseason. They will be drafting a receiver.

Blessed with five top-100 picks, two in the first round and six in the first three rounds, here are three wide receivers the Chiefs could be targeting in the first two days of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Undersized Skyy Moore could be the Chiefs’ day-two answer for Tyreek Hill loss

One wide receiver who could be coming off the board to the Chiefs in day two of the draft is Skyy Moore of the Western Michigan Broncos. Despite being a former high school quarterback, the receiver used his skills as a two-way player (defensive back) to become one of the better wideouts in The MAC over the last few seasons. Moore was all-conference all three years he was in school.

He may be undersized at 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds, but did that stop Hill from being a top-five receiver in the league playing for Kansas City? Yes, catching balls from a transcendent talent like Mahomes surely helped, but Moore has the chance to be a younger version of what Hill was for Kansas City. Not to say he will be the next Hill for the Chiefs, but he could play in a similar role.

As for where the Chiefs could theoretically pick Moore, it would have to be in the second round. He is probably not going to make it to No. 62, but could be available at No. 50, a pick the Chiefs got from the Miami Dolphins for Hill. If the Chiefs have to move up a bit to get him, they have the capital to navigate the draft board however the franchise chooses. They are in terrific shape here.

Moore would be an ideal receiver to target if the Chiefs do not address the issue in the first round.
