Scouting Report. Penn State Nittany Lions. player. 806. Pick Analysis. WR. Jahan Dotson. 2

Jahan Dotson is a borderline, first-round prospect coming out of Penn State

Along with the Green Bay Packers, the Chiefs are in a fantastic position to potentially reach on a wide receiver in the first round this spring. It may be a play of desperation for both contending teams, but neither club has many other glaring issues. This is why it might make some sense for the Chiefs to use either the No. 29 or No. 30 overall pick on Jahan Dotson out of Penn State.

Dotson was a two-time All-Big Ten performer for the Nittany Lions. Despite Penn State fading down the stretch last year, Dotson had already begun to stand out among the many elite receivers the conference had to offer. He was first-team all-conference last season, serving as one of Sean Clifford’s favorite targets in the Penn State passing game. What could Dotson provide the Chiefs?

While he may not be the breakaway speedster that Hill was, Dotson played at a program that has quietly produced several excellent receiving talents. If he can be akin to what fellow Penn Staters like Chris Godwin and Allen Robinson have been as professionals, then it would be worth it for the Chiefs to use one of their first-round picks on a guy like Dotson. Think about five years of control.

Though Dotson makes some sense at No. 29 or No. 30, let him fall a bit and do not overdraft him.
