The New York Mets are feeling good that Jacob deGrom will be able to get back on the bump soon enough.

The start of the 2022 campaign hasn’t gone according to plan for the New York Mets and star hurler Jacob deGrom. The injury to his shoulder was devastating to see ahead of Opening Day arriving.

With him being shut down for a month, Mets fans themselves were beyond upset. However, some good news has arrived. Per Bob Nightengale, deGrom will have another MRI on Monday and the team is feeling good about his progress thus far.

Mets fans can’t wait to see Jacob deGrom back in action

This is great to see for everyone who supports the Mets. When healthy, deGrom is one of the best starters in the game. However, he hasn’t had much luck staying off the Injured List over the past two seasons.

His campaign in 2021 was dominated by injuries, leading to deGrom missing a large chunk of the season. The hope was that deGrom would be able to stay at 100 percent from start to finish this year, but adversity arrived early on.

Now, Mets fans will be patiently waiting to see what comes from his MRI on Monday, but New York feels good about where the star hurler is at right now in his recovery. It shouldn’t be too much longer before deGrom is able to get back on the bump.

His presence in the rotation will be needed for the Mets later this year, as the club has hopes of not only pushing for an NL East title, but making plenty of noise in the postseason as well. Come Monday, everyone will have a better idea of when deGrom will suit back up for the Mets.
