Asuka made her long-awaited return to WWE on the Apr. 25 episode of Monday Night Raw, and she began a feud with Becky Lynch.

On the April 25 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, one of the promoted segments for the show was Becky Lynch speaking for the first time since losing the Raw Women’s Championship to Bianca Belair. At first, Lynch lamented her loss, but then she said that things will only go up from here on out, before she is ultimately holding the title once again.

Lynch listed names of wrestlers that could not beat her on the Raw roster.  Then, some familiar music hit, and it was none other than Asuka, who was making her return after being sidelined with an injury last year! Asuka let Lynch know that she is not getting past her. Lynch went for an attack, but escaped from the ring as Asuka went for a spinning back fist.

Safe to say, WWE fans were hyped at the return of “The Empress of Tomorrow.”

Fightful Select (paid subscription) first reported on Sunday that they were made aware that Asuka was set to return and enter a feud with Lynch as early as the Apr. 25 edition of Raw.

The last time WWE fans saw “The Empress of Tomorrow” was back in July 2021, when she competed in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. She had been sidelined with an injury ever since.

Asuka and Lynch do have history with one another, as they both faced off in women’s championship matches. Back at Royal Rumble 2019, Asuka defeated Lynch to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship. At the following year’s Royal Rumble match, Lynch won to defend the Raw wOmen’s Championship.

A feud between Lynch and Asuka is somethign that aWWE fans can get behind, based off of the reaction on social media.
