Could Giants replace Daniel Jones with Baker Mayfield?
The New York Giants trading for Baker Mayfield would make sense since things haven’t worked out for Daniel Jones.
Before the first round of the NFL Draft arrives, some big news came out of East Rutherford, N.J., as the New York Giants didn’t exercise the fifth-year option on quarterback Daniel Jones. With this, he’ll be playing this next campaign with his future up in the air.
Someone else who doesn’t know what the future has in store for them is Baker Mayfield, as trade rumors continue to fly. With that, could the Giants pick up the phone and try to land Mayfield from the Browns?
Baker Mayfield is waiting to see where he’ll be playing next
Jones is a former first-round pick of the Giants, but he hasn’t even come close to living up to the hype. With Jones and Saquon Barkley playing together, Giants fans had hopes of the two leading New York back to the Super Bowl.
Instead, the squad has been a major disappointment in recent years and hasn’t even come close to competing for an NFC East title. People all over New York and New Jersey are sick and tired of seeing the offense struggle.
Mayfield wouldn’t be able to fix things all on his own, but he’d certainly be a step up over Jones. While the Houston Texans could try and land Mayfield this weekend, don’t be shocked if the Giants decide to see if something can happen on their end as well.
