The Pittsburgh Steelers need a quarterback as they go into the 2022 NFL Draft but what draft picks do they have at their disposal?

One of the teams to watch in the 2022 NFL Draft will be the Pittsburgh Steelers. With their dire need for a quarterback front and center while also being combined with the scarcity at the position in this draft class, how Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin elect to handle their business in the draft will be fascinating.

What makes it more curious is that quarterback isn’t the team’s only need. So while they have to be somewhat aggressive in going after a signal-caller they believe can lead them to success in a post-Big Ben era, they also have to find answers at linebacker, on the offensive line, and otherwise.

Pittsburgh has seven picks in the 2022 NFL Draft to work with and let’s take a look at where they’re coming from going into this.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 NFL Draft picks

Here’s a look at the Steelers’ draft picks in the 2022 event.

  • Round 1, Pick No. 20: Kenny Pickett, QB/Pittsburgh
  • Round 2, Pick No. 52: George Pickens, WR/Georgia
  • Round 3, Pick No. 84: DeMarvin Leal, DE/Texas A&M
  • Round 4, Pick No. 138: Calvin Austin III, WR/Memphis
  • Round 6, Pick No. 208: Conor Heyward, FB/Michigan State
  • Round 7, Pick No. 225: Mark Robinson, LB/Ole Miss
  • Round 7, Pick No. 241: Chris Oladokun, QB/South Dakota State

How Pittsburgh moves around and operates in this draft will be fascinating.

It’s one of the worst-kept secrets in the league that the organization could look at quarterback at No. 20 — but there’s also the chance that the club has to make a move up to get the guy that they want. How that would affect the rest of their draft capital would be interesting to see, especially considering that they have holes to fill elsewhere.
