With the 2022 NFL Draft beginning on Thursday, Apr. 28, which college program has the most first-round picks in one year?

After all of the reports and the countless mock drafts, the 2022 NFL Draft has finally arrived, and it will begin on Thursday, Apr. 28 live from Las Vegas, Nev.

Every year, there is always a college football program that dominates the first-round. By that, we mean that university has the most players selected by NFL teams in the very first night of the annual event.

But, which college program holds the record for the most first-round selections in a single NFL Draft?

What’s the record for most first round picks by a college in an NFL Draft?

The record is held by two programs, both of whom had six players selected in the first-round. Those programs are the Miami Hurricanes in 2004 and the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2021.

Here are the Miami players who were selected in the first-round of the 2004 NFL Draft:

  • Sean Taylor, S, No. 5 overall by the now-Washington Commanders
  • Kellen Winslow II, TE, No. 6 overall by the Cleveland Browns
  • Jonathan Vilma, LB, No. 12 overall by the New York Jets
  • D.J. Williams, LB, No. 17 overall by the Denver Broncos
  • Vernon Carey, OT, No. 19 overall by the Miami Dolphins
  • Vince Wilfork, NT, No. 21 overall by the New England Patriots

Here are the Alabama players who were selected in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft:

  • Jaylen Waddle, WR, No. 6 overall by the Miami Dolphins
  • Patrick Surtain II, CB, No. 9 overall by the Denver Broncos
  • DeVonta Smith, WR, No. 10 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles
  • Mac Jones, QB, No. 15 overall by the New England Patriots
  • Alex Leatherwood, OT, No. 17 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders
  • Najee Harris, RB, No. 24 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers

So there you have it, a program will have to have six players selected in the first-round to tie the record, or seven to break the record altogether.
