The New York Yankees had the perfect response to Chris Woodward after the Rangers manager called Yankee Stadium a little league park.

Rangers manager Chris Woodward caused a stir on Monday in the middle of a double-header with the Yankees when he took a shot at New York’s ballpark.

Woodward shrugged off Gleyber Torres’ walk-off home run in Game 1 by saying it wouldn’t have been a home run in 99 percent of stadiums. He went so far as to call Yankee Stadium a “little league” venue.

Needless to say, the Yankees didn’t take kindly to that assessment. The social media team took their first opportunity to dig back at Woodward during Game 2.

When Giancarlo Stanton blasted a 427-foot homer in the third inning, New York made sure to validate it as a home run in all 30 parks.

Aaron Boone also took a shot at Woodward, correcting him for his math.

Hilariously, two of the home runs the Rangers hit on Sunday were actually shorter than Torres’ 369-foot game-winner.

The first game only required a walk-off because Kole Calhoun hit a 355-foot shot into the stands. In the second game, Eli White hit one even shorter at 342 feet.

New York got to laugh at that one but they didn’t get the last laugh on the day. That belonged to Texas as they won Game 2, 4-2.

The two teams can continue to argue the merits of Yankee Stadium on Monday as they close out the series.
