Seemingly just about everyone wants Arch Manning, but it looks like there are only a handful of teams that the quarterback is actually interested in.

The top quarterback for the 2023 recruiting class has opened up to On3’s Sam Spiegelman about the schools leading the race for his commitment, where he could take official visits and two SEC programs trying to make up ground.

Arch Manning has a few different schools that he is apparently interested in and two of them are a little surprising, all things considered.

The Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas Longhorns are all being looked at by Manning, and that shouldn’t be shocking for anyone. Those programs have all been linked to Manning for a little while now.

However, the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers getting some consideration is a fascinating bit of news.

Georgia, Texas and Alabama are the favorites for Arch Manning but LSU and Florida hope to stay in the race for the top recruit in the Class of 2023

While Florida and LSU are prominent programs that anyone would be fortunate to play for, neither have really seemed all that stable in recent years and, as such, they have brand new head coaches.

“I’ve had a few conversations with Florida. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Coach (Billy) Napier, so I might want to get check and see what they’re all about,” Manning told Spiegelman.

But Manning cited both of those new head coaches, Billy Napier and Brian Kelly, as reasons that he’s intrigued in visiting Florida and LSU.

“Coach (Brian) Kelly knows how to win,” Manning said. “He’s won everywhere he goes pretty much.”

Manning, a New Orleans native, would be a massive star at LSU and Napier spent the past few years at Louisiana before leaving for Florida.

It remains to be seen exactly where the young quarterback will end up. It’s pretty safe to say that he’d almost certainly be a starter just about anywhere he goes and of course, there are a number of schools that are hoping to court him.
