3. Must-win games for the Dallas Cowboys – At Philadelphia Eagles

The first step towards getting home-field advantage in the playoffs is taking care of business in the division. The NFC East was hardly a challenge for the Cowboys a year ago as Dallas went 6-0 in the division, a feat they would love to duplicate in 2022.

While the New York Giants and Washington Commanders are in various stages of rebuilding, the Philadelphia Eagles actually made the playoffs in 2021. The Eagles are by far the most talented opposition that Dallas will face in their division, making their two matchups the most important NFC East contests on the Cowboys’ schedule.

These games are also important for Dallas since these teams last played at full strength in Week 3 of the 2021 season with the Cowboys winning 41-21 at AT&T Stadium. The rematch came in Week 18 with both teams already in the playoffs, resulting in a glorified preseason game with plenty of action for the backups.

The Eagles will undoubtedly have their home date with Dallas circled on the calendar as an opportunity to gain some revenge on their division foes. Picking up a win in Philadelphia would all but assure that the NFC East belongs to the Cowboys, making it a must-get game for Mike McCarthy’s team.
