A complete list of every national television, primetime, and Thanksgiving Day game that was revealed during the NFL schedule release.

There’s no doubting the thrill of kickoff on an NFL Sunday, but the journey to get there has evolved in hype over the years. It used to be that football didn’t really start until late August but the modern NFL is a year-round business venture.

As such, the hype train has inflated just about every key offseason date into a can’t-miss affair. It’s not just the NFL Draft that gets the red carpet treatment, something as seemingly minor as the upcoming season’s schedule release gets proper pomp and circumstance as it’s rolled out.

To be fair, the way we consume the NFL has changed over the years. While it’s true that back in the day the schedule was simply faxed out without much fanfare, the NFL of today is a machine that dominates fans’ attention all year long. The ease with which fans can purchase tickets, the advent of fantasy football, and the general lack of anything else football-related to talk about this time of year all plays into making the schedule release a lot bigger of a deal than it would otherwise seem.

We love sports, and football is king daddy in North America, so it’s only natural that getting the schedule for the upcoming season generates excitement among fans looking for something to look forward to.

Note: This post will be updated as games are either announced or leaked by verified sources.

NFL Schedule Release: Thanksgiving Games 2022

As is the case almost every year, the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys will be hosting games in the late-morning and mid-afternoon slots respectively. The fun in seeing what the Thanksgiving Day slate is not only who will be in those games but which two teams will be squaring off in the primetime nightcap.

This year the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots are those two teams. The Vikings haven’t played on Thanksgiving since 2012 while it’s been a decade since the Patriots made an appearance on the slate. Fun fact, the last Patriots appearance on Thanksgiving Day was also in the primetime slot and featured the infamous Mark Sanchez Butt Fumble.

12:30 pm ET: Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills (CBS)
4:30 pm ET: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants (FOX)
8:20 pm ET: New England Patriots vs. Minnesota Vikings (NBC)

NFL Schedule Release: Christmas Day Games 2022

Sometimes the NFL schedule will fall on Christmas Day, which is the case this season. That means not every team will be playing a game that day, but rather the league will be using it as a sequel of sorts to what it does for Thanksgiving Day games.

8:20 pm ET: Cardinals vs. Buccaneers (NBC)

NFL schedule release: Every NFL Network game for the 2022 season

Unlike years past, the NFL Network won’t be airing every Thursday night game during the season. NFL Network, FOX, and CBS opted out of it their deals with the NFL, and the rights to air Thursday Night Football are now owned by Jeff Bezos and Amazon.

That means in order to watch Thursday Night Football this year, you’ll need to be subscribed to Amazon Prime. NFL Network will still be airing games, however, including the games being played overseas.

Week 4: New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings in London, 9:30 am ET (Oct. 2nd)
Week 5: Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants in London, 9:30 am ET (Oct. 9th)
Week 10: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Seattle Seahawks in Munich, 9:30 am ET (Nov. 13th)

NFL schedule release: Every Amazon Prime game for the 2022 season

Speaking of Amazon Prime, here’s a look at that schedule now that Amazon is the new home of Thursday Night Football.
