Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is facing a 23rd and potentially 24th civil suit, per attorney Tony Buzbee.

The 23rd case was filed against Watson on Tuesday by a woman who was allegedly assaulted by the quarterback over the course of three sessions. The following are the allegations against Watson from the 23rd plaintiff:

While this suit was filed late in the process, this alleged victim has been involved since the very beginning. She has been very public about her allegations against Watson, even speaking out on a television program. However, only recently did she opt to join the civil suit after witnessing the courage of other women involved.

The biggest new information mentioned by said plaintiff was that the owner of a spa Watson frequented helped arrange massages for him, despite knowing his reputation. They were allegedly paid to keep quiet.

Deshaun Watson case: New civil suits filed against him

While much of the information isn’t known at this point, several reports suggest Buzbee will come forward with a 24th allegation against Watson, making it all the more difficult to ignore the claims against him.

From Watson’s perspective, adding more allegations this late in the process will only slow the case down, and therefore impact the NFL’s investigation as well. For a quarterback who sat out last season, it’s all very inopportune.

But this story is not Watson’s to tell. Rather, it is the alleged victims who deserve their day in court to tell their side of the story. Watson will get to defend himself, of course, but the number of allegations and claims against him is enough to overwhelm an already-slow American justice system.

Don’t expect this to be solved anytime soon.
