Watch MJF drop massive pipe bomb on AEW, Tony Khan

After an eventful weekend, MJF showed up to AEW Dynamite and dropped the pipe bomb of all pipe bombs on the company and owner Tony Khan.

This past weekend, reports out of Las Vegas noted that Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF, no-showed AEW Fan Fest on Saturday and a flight was booked out of the city for him the night before their pay-per-view, Double or Nothing. Yet MJF showed up for the show for his scheduled match against Wardlow.

Earlier on Wednesday, AEW announced that MJF would be speaking on their latest episode of Dynamite, live from the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, Calif. Shortly after the opening match, MJF walked to the ring and dropped the pipe bomb of all pipe bomb promos on the company and its owner, Tony Khan.

MJF expressed that he was one of the biggest draws in the company, and that he was not getting paid as such. He then took aim at Khan, saying that he is hoarding all the money “so he could give it to all the ex-WWE guys he keeps bringing in that can’t lace my goddamn boots.”

MJF was far from done after that line, as he asked if he would be treated better if he were a former WWE star. He then took aim at the wrestlers in the back, saying “if any of you want my spot, you can have it, because I don’t want to be here anymore.”

He then dared Khan to fire him repeatedly, where he got bleeped out and the broadcast cut to commercial. However, there was luckily an uncensored video on Fite TV.

It is well known that MJF’s contract with AEW is up in 2024. Fightful Select (subscription required) reported that the exact date of when the deal runs out is on Jan. 1, 2024.

MJF appeared at Double or Nothing, where he lost to Wardlow after taking 10 powerbombs and was stretched off to the back. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted during their post-show that Friedman reached out to them, saying that he showed up to the arena shortly before his match, and left immediately afterward before saying he had some things to think over.

PWInsider reported that MJF showed up as the Buy-In pre-show was live.

It remains to be seen what is next for MJF and AEW, but it certainly has the attention of the fans following what could be the greatest wrestling promo in recent memory.
