Stephen A. Smith unloads majorly bold Steph Curry, LeBron James take

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith made a bold prediction about how many more NBA titles the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry will win in the future.

The 2022 NBA Finals officially begins on Thursday, June 2, with the Boston Celtics taking on the Golden State Warriors. Even though the Warriors have missed the playoffs the previous two seasons, they are now in the Finals for the sixth time in eight years, and they certainly look like the favorites to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

During an episode of ESPN’s “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith unveiled his bold prediction that he sees the Warriors winning two NBA Championships in the next three years. He was not done there, as he then predicted that Steph Curry will surpass LeBron James’ four NBA titles.

Smith praised Golden State’s roster and how deep it is in expressing his belief that the team could still be in contention for the NBA titles.

When it comes to Curry, he has three NBA Championships to his credit. Ironically, they have all come at the expense of James, who was in his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In fact, Curry could have had four, had the Warriors not blown a 3-1 lead in 2016.

Through 16 games this playoff run (12 starts), Curry is averaging 25.9 points, 6.2 assists and 4.9 rebounds while posting a field goal percentage of 44.9 and a three-point percentage of 38.0.

The Warriors do face a formidable foe in the Celtics, who eliminated the Brooklyn Nets, last year’s NBA Champions in the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat in seven games to make their first Finals appearance since 2010.
