LSU athletic director Scott Woodward trolled Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher overĀ their NIL feud.
Of course, LSU athletic director Scott Woodward would insult Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher for being West Virginia hillbillies while the SEC spring meetings were going on down at the Redneck Riviera.
Saban and Fisherās NIL feud has been a national story. While one could argue that it is a mentor lashing out at his former protege, Woodward has a deep previous working relationship with both of them at LSU, as well as with Fisher at Texas A&M. While on Wednesdayās episode of The Paul Finebaum Show live from Destin, Florida during the SEC spring meetings, Woodward offered this.
"āIām not going to get in between two hillbillies fightinā from West Virginia. Thatās a no-win situation,ā said Woodward to Finebaum."
It might be easy to call Saban and Fisher West Virginia hillbillies on the set of The Paul Finebaum Show while enjoying the very best the Gulf of Mexico could ever hope to offer, but keep in mind that LSU plays both Alabama and Texas A&M annually.
It just means moreā¦

Scott Woodward pokes the bear when it comes to Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher
Look, even though Saban and Fisher do not work for Woodward, at least they know who they are and are not making up accents on the fly. Brian Kelly may be assembling his family down in Baton Rouge after being thoroughly enlightened by the holy deliciousness that is a poor boy sandwich, but as he said, heās just getting started. The same principle may apply to the Saban vs. Fisher feud.
Saban does not like losing, especially to a former assistant. Not only did he lose to Fisher the last time they met, but the Crimson Tide lost to the Aggies on the recruiting trails last cycle. Letās not even factor in another noted Saban disciple winning the ultimate prize back in January. While Woodward may want to stay out of this here rasslinā match, he added fuel to their backyard brawl.
While the football players are simply better in the SEC, the theatrics rivaling a WWE weekend extravaganza is why we are on the edge of our seats over this. Woodward may have tossed a grenade into that hillbilly rasslinā match, but what if he didnāt want the smoke? From coaches to now athletic directors needling each other, this is why our football league is way better than yours.
Hillbillies and cajuns and oil money and NIL, oh my! Labor Day Weekend canāt get here any faster.
