The Golden State Warriors got an injury update on star guard Steph Curry, who will likely be available for Game 4 in Boston.

The Warriors, who are down 2-1 to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, thankfully will likely not be without their best player in Curry for a vital Game 4 a few days from now.

Curry was injured in a fourth-quarter scrum, when he suffered an apparent foot injury. The sharpshooter didn’t require an MRI on Thursday.

Per the Athletic’s Shams Charania, “There is optimism today on Warriors star Stephen Curry’s status for Game 4 of the NBA Finals vs. Boston on Friday…It appears Curry won’t need MRI, has avoided major issue with his left foot, and will attend Golden State’s afternoon practice.”

Steph Curry injury update: Will Warriors star play Game 4?

Without Curry, the Warriors wouldn’t have much of a chance not just in Game 4, but the remainder of the series.

The only Golden State NBA Finals appearances of late that did not result in the Dubs holding the trophy were a result of bad luck or their own doing. An injury to Klay Thompson cost Golden State against the Raptors, while a Draymond Green suspension spurred a Cavaliers comeback from a 3-1 deficit.

An injury to Curry would surely put another asterisk next to this Finals appearance, but the bottomline would still — assuming Golden State could not rally — have Dubs fans wondering ‘what if’?
