In his first press conference since coming back from retirement, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady kept his future wide open.

Most Brady press conferences end with more questions than answers, and Thursday’s edition was very on-brand. TB12 was asked specifically about reported interest from the Miami Dolphins, which were rumored to be in on him as a replacement for Tua Tagovailoa or in an ownership role.

Brady, as he almost always does, didn’t close the door entirely on Miami’s reported interest. He also didn’t acknowledge it much.

“I had a lot of conversations with a lot of people, I’ve had for the last three or four years of my career, about different opportunities when I’m done playing football, so, I kind of made a decision of what I’d like to do, and I’ll get to be in the game of football,” Brady said.

He went on to say that he’s focused only on what he can do for the Bucs this upcoming season, and his ultimate goal of winning another Super Bowl.

Fair enough.

Was Dolphins interest in Tom Brady real?

Am I interested in a Porsche? Sure, why not.

Miami doesn’t have many options at QB. They tried to trade for Deshaun Watson and failed, as he’s now in Cleveland. They claim to believe in Tua, yet have tried to replace him on several occasions. In all likelihood, that included a check-in on Brady, too.

In this specific case, it’s not much of an insult to Tagovailoa. Brady is the best quarterback of all-time. If he’s available and interested, you make the call.

There were separate rumors that Brady would be interested in joining the franchise in an ownership role. He didn’t put those to rest, either.

So, as is usually the case, nothing can be confirmed nor denied. Tom Brady breaks his own news, just ask Adam Schefter.
