AEW star Jeff Hardy was arrested on Monday on felony DUI charges just days before he was set to compete in a ladder match on the June 15 episode of Dynamite.

Jeff Hardy is one of the most popular stars in wrestling when he enters the ring. His struggles outside of the ring are well-documented. Unfortunately, there was yet another incident involving the former WWE legend and current All Elite Wrestling star.

On Monday, Hardy was booked in Volusia County, FL on charges of felony driving under the influence (DUI), violating restrictions placed on his driver’s license and driving with a suspended or revoked license. This is Hardy’s third DUI offense within 10 years, per online records.

Hardy is being held on $3,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Jeff Hardy booked on multiple charges, including felony DUI

According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi (via Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), Hardy took two blood alcohol tests, which were 0.294 and 0.291, which are over three times the legal limit.

This is another recent arrest for Hardy. In March 2018, Hardy was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a car accident, and in Oct. 2019 on DWI charges. He was also arrested in July 2019 for public intoxication.

Hardy joined AEW this past March after he was released by WWE last December after an incident at a house show where he jumped the barricade and left in the middle of a match.

Hardy was scheduled to compete in a ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the June 15 episode of Dynamite. He and his brother Matt were taking on the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and the champions, Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus).

UPDATE:  AEW president and CEO Tony Khan released a statement on Tuesday, June 14, saying that they are assisting Hardy with treatment for substance abuse issues. Hardy is open to receiving the treatment, per Khan.

Until then, Khan announced that Hardy is suspended without pay and can not return to the company until he successfully completes the treatment and maintains his sobriety.

The ladder match set for the June 15 episode of Dynamite will now just be between Jurassic Express and the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
