Oklahoma baseball first baseman Blake Robertson truly went all out to make a play in the College World Series, tumbling into the Notre Dame dugout.

Omaha brings out some of the best baseball of the year annually with the College World Series. Not only is it the best teams in the country (or at least the hottest teams in the country) making the trip, but it’s also when you get to see these young players hyped up and ready to go all-out to try and secure the win.

That was certainly the case with Oklahoma baseball first baseman Blake Robertson on Sunday night in the winner’s bracket matchup against Notre Dame.

Early in the Sunday night contest from Omaha, the Fighting Irish were trying to get something going early. However, the Sooners pitching staff was working well early on and, at one point, got a hitter to pop up into foul territory.

That’s when Robertson took it upon himself to go full superhero at all costs.

Oklahoma baseball: First baseman flips into dugout on insane catch

Ranging towards the Notre Dame dugout in foul territory, Robertson got a full head of steam towards the protective railing and didn’t slow down a bit. And as he secured the grab, he did a full flip into the dugout. Even more incredibly, he somehow still hung onto the ball.

That’s king of the Web Gems, at least for Sunday’s baseball action. What an insane catch to make on such a big stage.

Robertson’s heroics — he was fine after the play, for what it’s worth — seemed to give Oklahoma baseball a jolt they needed as well. They amassed a 5-0 lead midway through the contest and looked dominant both at the dish and in the field.
