2. Jake LaRavia

Draymond Green needs a quality backup if the Warriors won’t to keep him fresh for postseason runs to come. Landing a versatile big like LaRavia at No. 28 could buy Green precious rest during the regular season.

The former Wake Forest standout is just the sort of ball-handler Golden State likes to have with their frontcourt players. He wasn’t a great primary creator in college but he did an excellent job of moving the ball with his passing. Add in his propensity to be a devastating cutter and it’s easy to see why his skillset would appeal to Steve Kerr and his coaching staff.

The big question on LaRavia is whether or not he’s ready to keep defenders honest with his jumper. He shot a decent percentage in college but he didn’t hoist enough attempts to make NBA decision-makers comfortable. He’ll need to be more aggressive with his jumper at the next level.

One underrated aspect of LaRavia’s game is the switch ability he showcased in the ACC. He may not look like an elite athlete but he does an excellent job of staying in front of smaller guards and forcing them into tough two-point jumpers. His lack of elite athleticism might be exposed by stars at the next level but he’s going to compete night-in and night out.
