3 Red Sox trade rumors they should turn into reality

1. Red Sox trade rumors to turn into reality: David Robertson
Why stop making Red Sox trade rumors happen at Bednar? Chaim Bloom should also go out there and acquire David Robertson—or at least pivot to the Chicago Cubs.
Robertson would be a great veteran addition to the Boston club whose bullpen isn’t quite as experienced as some others. Plus, it’s going to feel good to have a former New York Yankees closer help you take them down.
Adding Bednar and Robertson might be a huge reach for Boston. Settling for one is a little more realistic. Bednar should be the preferred choice but Robertson is a very good consolation prize. He is pitching incredibly well for the Cubs. And although he is merely a rental, it does allow the Red Sox to reassess things moving forward. They could be in the market for a number of closers in free agency or trades.
Loading up the bullpen with talented arms is essential for any team. The Red Sox may also find themselves searching for a starting pitcher. Right now, there aren’t any serious Red Sox rumors about who they could specifically begin to target. They could always try to improve the rotation and bullpen in one move. With Bednar, pair him with Jose Quintana. With Robertson, a healthy Wade Miley might be a nice fit.
