Draymond Green has no fear of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving potentially teaming up with the Lakers and he’s letting everyone know it.

Draymond Green isn’t shy about his opinions. If he has something to say, he says it.

So when he was asked about the prospect of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving teaming back up with the Lakers, you can bet he was ready to weigh in.

And Green isn’t worried.

Draymond Green shades idea of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving combo

“With LeBron, if you give him someone like Kyrie…they’ll have a chance because of the way Kyrie can score the basketball. LeBron will only put him in position to do that,” Green said. “Kyrie has not proven to be a great leader. LeBron will put an umbrella over that. If you can do what you’re got at, you have LeBron leading.

“They could contend, but they won’t beat us.”

The comments will strike a few cords.

Green did concede that the Lakers could be a danger in the Western Conference with James and Irving on the court together.

At the same time, he took a jab at Irving for his leadership abilities. The player may not be super happy about that one, though it’s hard to argue that he’s been a steadying force for teams he has been on in his career.

That’s precisely why Green should have confidence in what the Warriors have over what the Lakers could have. The core of his team is solid and proven. An LA trio of James, Irving and Anthony Davis would still have heaps of question marks, just as the trio of James, Davis and Russell Westbrook brought.
