Four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada is the latest recruit to commit to the Miami football team.

Mario Cristobal’s Miami football program just landed a top-tier quarterback recruit in Jaden Rashada for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Rashada announced his Miami commitment on CBS Sports HQ on Sunday afternoon. The four-star signal-caller from Pittsburg, California had long been rumored to Miami, but was seriously considering attending Florida, LSU, Ole Miss or Texas A&M. Coral Gables may be a long way from him, but clearly Rashada feels right at home in South Florida. He is all about The U going forward.

As it is with everything these days, nothing is official until we see the graphic from Hayes Fawcett.

Jaden Rashada commits to Miami: 4-star QB picks Canes over Gators, Rebels, etc.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Rashada is the No. 5 player from California, the No. 7 quarterback in the country and the No. 45 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle. He took official visits to all five schools of note, with his most recent being to Miami on June 21. Less than a week later, Rashada became an important piece in Cristobal’s first full recruiting class at Miami.

Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis served has Rashada’s primary recruiter to Miami. He becomes the third highest-rated recruit Gattis has ever signed. With all signs pointing towards him enrolling early, Rashada could theoretically compete for the starting job right away in 2023, assuming last year’s starter Tyler Van Dyke builds off a great 2021 campaign and decides to enter the NFL Draft.

At 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, Rashada will need to put roughly 20 pounds of muscle on his frame to have sustained success at the quarterback position, college or pro. Scouts rave about his combination of mobility and ball placement, as well as his effortless throwing motion. Clearly, there is a lot to like about Rashada as a blue-chip quarterback prospect. Miami got a good one.

Look for Miami to continue to build off this momentum generated by Rashada’s commitment.
