Yankees: 3 players who won’t be on the roster past the trade deadline

These three members of the New York Yankees will not be on the roster past the trade deadline.
The New York Yankees look unstoppable this season with a consistent spot at the top of our MLB Power Rankings. Even with a roster that could use improvement, they are an early World Series favorite.
Brian Cashman can improve his club’s fortunes even more with some major trade deadline moves. And with trade deadline additions there come roster subtractions.
The Yankees could potentially look vastly different past the trade deadline. They would surely like to upgrade at least one spot in the outfield and bolster the pitching staff. To make room for any of these additions, which members of the Yankees roster will be gone?
1) Miguel Andujar will not be on the Yankees roster past the trade deadline
Miguel Andujar has seen limited big league action this season. The organization has taken advantage of his remaining minor league option and sent him to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a good portion of the year.
Andujar has already been public about how he would welcome a trade. At 27 and with only one full major league season under his belt, it must be frustrating for him to only get into a dozen games this season.
Cashman will be his personal genie. He will make his wish come true. He’ll get traded, possibly not even in a deal to help improve their roster. Andujar has hit well in the minor leagues this season. His runner-up Rookie of the Year campaign still fresh in the minds of many despite how long ago it occurred, he is someone a team could look to for some right-handed pop even in a DH role.
Trading Andujar would clear a spot on the 40-man roster to do something bigger. Unfortunately for him, he just doesn’t fit into their plans. Hopefully, for his sake, Andujar ends up with a contender and some regular at-bats.
