Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau was starstruck after meeting his favorite WWE superstar, Kevin Owens, at the 2022 NHL Draft.

Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau is a diehard professional wrestling fan, and has talked about his love of it during a variety of interviews. One wrestler who he mentions as one of his favorites is current WWE star Kevin Owens.

On Friday, Boudreau appeared on the NHL Network panel during the second-and-seventh rounds of the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. While he was speaking, Owens walked towards the desk and introduced himself to Boudreau, who was giddy by the surprise.

Owens is billed from Marieville, Quebec, Canada, and was in attendance for the event. He then revealed that he was in one of the arena’s boxes and decided to head down to the NHL Network set to speak with Boudreau.

And yes, the two were able to take a picture together following their meeting.

The Canucks coach’s love for professional wrestling has not only carried over into his interviews, but also to the team. This past season, the player of the game is awarded a Canucks championship belt.

Boudreau joined Vancouver midway through the 2021-22 season as their head coach after the organization fired Travis Green. The team enjoyed some success with Boudreau behind the bench, as they went 32-15-10. Vancouver finished the season in fifth place in the Pacific Division with a 40-30-12 record.

It was revealed that Boudreau would remain as the head coach of the Canucks for the 2022-23 season.

There were many highlights in what was an eventful 2022 NHL Draft, but Boudreau meeting Owens has to be up there as one of the best.
