John Mulaney sang ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ during the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field on Saturday. Sadly, the Cubs lost in extras.

Such has been the case all too often in recent weeks, the Cubs lost, this time to the New York Mets in extra innings. Nonetheless, no game at Wrigley Field is complete without a celebrity sighting for the seventh-inning stretch.

On Saturday, comedian John Mulaney made an appearance, greeting fans with a spirited version of ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’.

Mulaney did not hold back, pointing at the crowd and trying to hype up Chicago baseball fans for a hopeful rally that never came.

Cubs lose again, John Mulaney makes an appearance

Mulaney sang from the press box while his girlfriend Olivia Munn watched from the stands. The comedian is a Chicago native, and is currently touring.

Unless you’re Bill Murray, it’s often tough to garner enough media attention of such a performance given Wrigley Field’s extensive history. For once, though, a rendition of ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ is in the news for a good reason.

We’re looking at you, Jeff Gordon. At least Mulaney didn’t forget the lyrics.

Chicago is 34-56 on the season, currently playing the Mets in the second game of their Saturday doubleheader.
