3M Open purse: Payout by player, finishing position
Breaking down the 3M Open payout for the week to see how much prize money each player will bring home from TPC Twin Cities and the $7.5 million purse.
No matter where the PGA Tour went after The Open at St. Andrews, it was always going to feel like a small letdown for the golf world. It just so happens the next stop was Blaine, MN for the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities and, as a result of being the week after a major championship in another country, the field was not that inspiring or all that strong.
Even still, it was a big week for players trying to make their move in the FedExCup and to pad their wallets a bit with some prize money. And while the $7.5 million purse is a bit small in comparison to other tournaments, there was still plenty of money to be had.
Scott Piercy entered the final round with a four-stroke lead on the field but, with big numbers looming, it still felt like anyone could make a move with Emiliano Grillo, Tony Finau, Doug Ghim and more looming.
With that in mind, let’s take a good look at the 3M Open payout breakdown by finishing position for this week.

Despite not having the strongest field, the tournament in Minnesota was a highly entertaining affair from start to finish.
It’s definitely a course at which players can take advantage of some holes and, particularly with the way the soft conditions were on Saturday due to the weather, go low on. At the same time, though, some tricky spots, a lot of water and thick, lush rough put big numbers in play just as much.
For a mundane stop on the PGA Tour, it’s been a fun week of golf overall.
